Eleanor Hackenberg

September 25, 1935 — February 9, 2015

MILLMONT – Eleanor Maxine Hackenberg, 79, of Millmont, entered into rest at 11:40 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2015, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born September 25, 1935, in Delaware Township, a daughter of the late Frank L. and Lula (Hill) McClintock.  On August 23, 1966, she married Harold H. Hackenberg, who preceded her in death June 13, 1997.

Eleanor was a 1953 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

She attended the Christ Community Church of Glen Iron.

Eleanor was employed as a dietary aide at the Laurelton Center for many years.

She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Mifflinburg.

Eleanor enjoyed flowers, watching birds, antiques, embroidery, and making quilts for her family.  Eleanor’s grandchildren were the love of her life.

Surviving are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven Catherman and his companion Colleen Dorman of Middleburg, James Hackenberg of Warrensville, and Charles and Caroline Hackenberg of Millmont; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Roger Miller of Middleburg, Lori and Carson Benner of Lewisburg, and Molly and Kenneth Maneval of Middleburg; one step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Harold and Norma Hackenberg of Laurelton; two step-daughters and one step-son-in-law, Hazel Ely of Mifflinburg, and Alice and Neil Shoreman of Millmont; 9 grandchildren, Jessica, Travis, Tara, Roger II, Jayme, Courtney, Charles, James, and Brandon; 8 great grandchildren; and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, G. Edna Berkheimer, R. Pauline Nickey, Caroline Catherman, and Marietta Mabus; and three brothers, Paul McClintock, Millard McClintock, and William McClintock.

Family and friends are welcome from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Henry Dorman, officiating.

Burial will be in Hartleton Cemetery.
