Edna J. Aikey, 81, Mifflinburg

Edna Jean Aikey, 81, of 2485 Centennial Rd., since 1953, entered into rest at 10:14 a.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born October 22, 1929, in West Buffalo Township, a daughter of the late Charles and Dora (Ulrich) Wirth. On March 23, 1946, in Sunrise, she married Mervin E. Aikey, who survives.

Edna attended the Cornelius School, West Buffalo Township.

She enjoyed horses, crocheting, crafts, going for car rides, and the color red.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 64 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles H. and Sandra I. Aikey of Lewisburg, Randall L. and Sandy M. Aikey of Mifflinburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sylvia J. and Roger L. Lloyd of Mifflinburg, and Carol A. Bierly of Mifflinburg; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Carlton "Brownie" Wirth; three sisters, Ernestine Wirth, Miriam Zimmerman, and Nellie Aikey; and two great grandchildren, John R. Radel, and Noah L. Bierly.

There will be no public viewing. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. John F. Saultz, officiating.

Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
