Dorothy Smith

Dorothy V. Smith, 81, formerly of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 1:29 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2024, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont. 

She was born February 1, 1943, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Norman E. and Mildred E. (Aikey) Heimbach. On November 24, 1961, she married Albert L. Smith, Jr., who preceded her in death December 29, 2005.

Dorothy was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

She was employed at Milton Shoe Factory.

Dorothy was a dedicated member of Forest Hill Evangelical Methodist Church, Mifflinburg, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She also enjoyed raising chickens. 

Surviving are one daughter, Gloria J. Phillips of Milton; four grandchildren, Lana Collier, Naomi and Jonathan Phillips, and David and wife Elizabeth Phillips; seven great-grandchildren, Justin and Christian Mummey, Keaton, Quinn, and Kamden Phillips, and Mason and Brynnlee Phillips; two sisters, Twila Loss of Mifflinburg and Joyce Gamble of Northumberland; one brother and sister-in-law, Merrill and Carol Heimbach of Mifflinburg.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Mowery; six brothers, Richard, Leroy, Marlin, David, Harry, George; four sisters, Margaret, Martha, Jenny, Thelma.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Forest Hill Evangelical Methodist Church, 2035 Wabash Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Brent Lenhart, officiating. 

Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Mifflinburg.
