MIFFLINBURG – Donald “Skin” C. Walter, 76, of 285 Walnut St., since 2007, formerly of 237 Green St., for over 30 years, entered into rest at 10:15 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
He was born September 17, 1938, in Buffalo Township, a son of the late Elmer and Ellen (Walker) Walter. On March 10, 1963, in Mifflinburg, he married the former Patricia L. Blackford, who preceded him in death January 10, 2009.
Donald was employed at Yorktowne Kitchens, Mifflinburg, for over 30 years. Earlier in life, he worked for George Carr Contracting, Mifflinburg.
He was a life member of the Mifflinburg Hose Company with 55 years of service, Mifflinburg Fire Police, Buffalo Valley Sportsmen's Club, Mifflinburg, and the Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410.
Donald enjoyed assisting at the Mifflinburg Firemen's Carnival, and helping the American Legion with the Fishing Derby in Mifflinburg. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an Earnhardt fan, hunting, fishing, watching the birds while sitting on his porch, and feeding the squirrels by hand.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth D. Walter of Mifflinburg; five grandchildren, Tyler D. and his wife Nicole Walter of Mifflinburg, Caleb C. Walter of Mifflinburg, Cain A. Walter of Mifflinburg, Kristopher A. Walter of Lewisburg, and Kerrick M. Walter of Lewisburg; one great granddaughter, Aiden Walter; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Miriam Walter of Mifflinburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Clifford Boyer of Mifflinburg, and Shirley and Clarence Johnson of Lewisburg; and one daughter-in-law, Kirsten E. Walter of Lewisburg.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Richard Walter; and two sisters, Julia Spickler and one in infancy.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
