Darlene Gearhart

August 9, 1939 — January 20, 2015

MIFFLINBURG – Darlene Marie Gearhart, 75, of 199 Maple St., entered into rest at 10:50 a.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born August 9, 1939, in Snyder County, a daughter of the late Emery and Sarah (Brubaker) Scholl.  On September 21, 1963, in Mifflinburg, she married Robert P. Gearhart, who survives.

Darlene enjoyed working at the produce stand at their home, playing Bingo, shopping, and going out to eat with her family and friends.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Royal R. and Carolyn Gearhart of Hanover; two daughters, Laura A. Wolfley and her companion William L. Bender of Beaver Springs, and Lois M. Gearhart of Middleburg; 7 brothers and 6 sisters-in-law, Carl and Helen Scholl of Shamokin Dam, Roy and Nancy Scholl of Lancaster, Emery and Janet Scholl of Massachusetts, Daniel and Mary Scholl of Beaver Springs, Paul and Janet Scholl of Middleburg, Leon and Sue Scholl of Selinsgrove, and James Scholl and his companion Cindy Martin of Huntington; 4 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Catherine “Naomi” Solomon of Milton, Julia Erb of Lancaster, Pearl and Norman Reich of Beaver Springs, and Miriam and Doug Smith of Selinsgrove; 5 grandchildren, Shonna, Bridget, and Brett Wolfley, and Wyatt and Jackson Gearhart; 2 brothers-in-law, Eugene Ackley of Mifflinburg, and Arthur Musser of Freeburg; 1 sister-in-law, Donna Scholl of Middleburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Musser and Emma Ackley, and two twin sisters in infancy; and two brothers, Merle and George Scholl.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, and 10:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, with Pastor Richard L. DeVett, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
