Cynthia Sampsell

MIFFLINBURG – Cynthia “Cindy” Ellen Sampsell, 65, of 13 Bogar Lane, entered into rest at 4:58 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born October 4, 1950, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Mary Ellen (Ruhl) VonNeida of Mifflinburg, and the late John VonNeida.  On October 17, 1970, at the Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Millmont, she married Larry L. Sampsell, who survives.

Cindy was a 1968 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School, and earned her nursing degree at Geisinger School of Nursing, Danville.

She was a member of the Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Millmont.

Cindy was employed as a nurse at Dr. Dave Holman, Podiatrist, Mifflinburg, Family Practice Center, Mifflinburg, and the Mifflinburg Elementary School.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put others first before herself.  Cindy enjoyed watching and cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 46 years, and her mother, are two sons, Scott L. Sampsell and Michelle Reichley of Millmont, and Ryan A. Sampsell and Kinley Stroup of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey E. and Chris Snyder of Mifflinburg; one brother, Tim VonNeida of Winfield; and 5 grandchildren, Makenna Snyder, Hailey Foresman, Tyler Sampsell, Taylin Snyder, and Brennen Snyder.

There will be no public viewing.  Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Sunday, at the Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Rd., Millmont, where the funeral will be conducted at 3, with Rev. John Yost, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to either Mostly Mutts, 284 Little Mountain Rd., Sunbury, PA 17801, or the Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Rd., Millmont, PA 17845.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
