Christine Maize

June 10, 1950 — June 30, 2019

New Berlin

Christine “Chris” A. Maize, 69, of New Berlin, entered into rest at 7:34 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2019, at UPMC Susquehanna.

She was born June 10, 1950 in York, a daughter of the late Andrew N. Jr. and Barbara A. (Metz) Horn. She married Terry R. Maize, who preceded her in death.

Chris was a graduate of Lewistown High School. Before retiring, she worked at QE Manufacturing in New Berlin.

She enjoyed camping at Riverside Campground, dancing, being a passenger on motorcycles, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and going to Pittsburgh to care for her grandson, Mateo.

Chris had a special kind of spunk and zest for life. She was selfless and giving, with a deep capacity to love unconditionally. Her smile and huge heart followed her everywhere, and she had a great sense of humor with healthy a dose of sarcasm and silliness.  She was one of the hardest working woman you’d meet and took care of everyone. If an award existed for Most Amazing mom and grandmother, she would win.

Chris is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kellee Maize and Joey Rahimi; three brothers and their spouses, David Horn and his partner Jean, Drew and Cathy Horn, and Mark Horn and his partner Heather; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Larry Raubenstine, a grandson, Mateo Maize Rahimi; and one goddaughter, Erin Hess. She was also “Grammy” to Nikki, Xander, Alyssa, and Addie Troxell, children of her “adopted son and daughter”, Tim and Angie Troxell. Chris also had more friends than one could count. She treated them like family and made an extraordinary impact on each one!

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Riverside Campground, and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to contact her daughter Kellee on social media.

Chris had a deep love and concern for wild wolves. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Wolf Sanctuary of PA, 465 Speedwell Forge Rd., Lititz, Pa. 17543
