Chester Walker

April 30, 1931 — June 19, 2015

LEWISBURG – Chester W. Walker, Sr., 84, of 507 Aikey Hill Rd., since 1966, entered into rest at 7:08 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2015, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.

He was born April 30, 1931 in Millmont, a son of the late Lawrence C. and Elva (Coors) Walker, Sr.  On June 25, 1961, he married the former Grace C. Sheesley, who preceded him in death December 25, 2012.

Chester was an Army veteran during the Korean War and worked road construction for Stabler Construction, Harrisburg, for 33 years.

Chester attended the West End Bible Fellowship, Millmont where he volunteered at the food bank where he was known as the egg man.  In his earlier days he raced stock cars at Selinsgrove and Port Royal.  He also was a promoter for the Penn’s Creek Raceway from 1994-2005.  He was a member of the Sunbury Coon Club and the Susquehanna Valley CB Radio Club with the handle, Pig Skinner.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially deep sea fishing, racing, four wheel drive jamborees and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving are two sons, Paul L. Walker and his companion Jeri Bradley of Millmont and Brain S. and his wife Melody Walker of Mifflinburg; three daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia M. and Paul Kahler of Millmont; Denise E. Walker of Lewisburg and Teresa K. Walker and her companion Jon Lloyd of Lewisburg; three brothers, Clark Walker of Wyalusing, Neil Walker of Mifflinburg and Lawrence Walker, Jr. of Milton; a sister, Connie Stahl of Milton; eight grandchildren, Paul Walker, Jr., Wesley Walker, Kayla Kessler, Keith Kahler, Katrina Walker, Ryan Walker, Alysia Sampsell and Alyson Sampsell and seven great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Chester W. Walker, Jr., a granddaughter, Amanda M. Lower, brothers Charles, Carl and Warren Walker and a sister at birth.

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 11-12 Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the West End Bible Fellowship, 19200 Old Turnpike Rd., Millmont, where a memorial service will be conducted at 12 pm, with Pastor Richard DeVett, officiating.

Interment will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
