C. Allen Lear, 72, of 413 Old Orchard Lane, since 1995, passed away at 6:48 a.m., Monday, May 26, 2014, at his home, after a courageous three year battle with cancer.

He was born April 1, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, a son of the late Chilt and Margaret (Stewart) Lear. On March 23, 1991, he married the former Lorrie A. Patrick, who survives.

Allen served in the Air Force during Viet Nam from September 19, 1960 until his honorable discharge June 18, 1964.

He graduated high school in Lexington, Kentucky, and then graduated from Trinity University, in San Antonio, Texas.

Allen was employed as a Information System Manager at NCCI, Boca Raton, Florida, JPM Company, Lewisburg, and Wood Mode, Kreamer.

He was a member of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Penn State Club.

Allen enjoyed horse racing, University of Kentucky basketball, Penn State football, listening to country western music, and his beloved dogs, Cady and Cindy.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 23 years, are two daughters, Melissa Reeder of San Antonio, and Kristin Lear of Louisville; father and mother-in-law, James and Marian Patrick of Lewisburg; sister-in-law, Lynn Patrick of Delray Beach, Florida; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Lear; and three sisters, Anna Mae Young, Jean Sutton, and Mary Jones.

There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m.., Thursday, at the Christ Cemetery, Church Rd., Tamaqua, with Rev.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Dr., Lewisburg, PA 17837 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
