Anthony R. Hernandez, 16, of 6519 Old Turnpike Rd., entered into rest at 2:20 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born November 7, 1993, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of Laurie M. (Ponchaud) Hernandez of Mifflinburg, and Ronald L. Hernandez and Vicki Wieand of Mifflinburg.
Anthony was a sophomore at Mifflinburg Area High School, where he enjoyed playing football, basketball, lacrosse, and weight lifting. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music, and riding four-wheelers. Anthony especially enjoyed hanging out with his friends, and spending time with his dad at the softball field.
Surviving in addition to his parents, are his maternal grandparents, Volney A. and Cheryl M. Ponchaud of Crystal Falls, Michigan; paternal grandparents, Ramon and Donna F. Hernandez of Hillsboro, Texas; great grandmother, Florence E. Ponchaud of Crystal Falls; aunt, Kimberly A. Hernandez of Las Vegas, Nevada; uncles, Brad J. Ponchaud of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Aaron A. Ponchaud of Crystal Falls; and great aunt and uncle, Glenrose M. and Jerry Fatturi of Crystal Falls.
Friends and family are welcome from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, 46 Brethren Church Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ralph Unroe, officiating.
Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to join Anthony's family in a time of fellowship at the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren following the committal service at the cemetery.
