Annabelle Hackenburg

November 13, 1929 — January 27, 2015

MILLMONT – Annabelle Marie Hackenburg, of 18460 Old Turnpike Rd., for 60 years, entered into rest at 11:08 a.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born November 13, 1929, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Harry and Marguerite (Fulkrod) Smith.  On April 2, 1949, in the Laurelton Lutheran Church, she married Kenneth E. Hackenburg, who survives.

Annabelle was a 1947 graduate of Hartley Township High School.

She was a member of the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and assisted with the turkey suppers.

Annabelle worked in the C.S.I.U. at the Laurelton Center for 20 years.  She worked at the Smith’s Restaurant, Millmont, for most of her life, and in her younger years she worked at Baker’s Convalescent Home, Hartleton.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, feeding her hummingbirds, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 65 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Larry S. and Patti Hackenburg of Millmont; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan A. and Richard Zimmerman of Millmont; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James and Molly Smith of Muncy, and John Smith of New Berlin; one sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Roger Wagner of Sunbury; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Pam Hackenburg of Laurelton, Jodi and Chip Schlegel of Millmont, Christy and Craig Miller of Montgomery, Jason Zimmerman of Millmont, and Lindsey and Derrick Weller of Hagerstown, Maryland; one step-granddaughter, Kelly Smith of Pittsburgh; five great grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas, Kelsey, Chase, and Bryce; and one step-great grandson, Zach.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with James R. Taylor, SUN Home Hospice Chaplain.

Burial will be in the Lincoln Chapel Cemetery.
