Alton "Abe" G. Weaver, 82, Mifflinburg
Alton "Abe" George Weaver, 82, of 205 Buffalo Creek Rd., since 1975, entered into rest at 7:21 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born July 13, 1928, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Elmer and Marion (Haines) Weaver.
Abe attended Mifflinburg High School.
He honorably served in the Army during World War II.
Abe was a self-employed truck driver for many years.
He enjoyed hunting and woodworking at his home.
Abe was a member of the Chestnut Flats Hunting Club, Mifflinburg, Buffalo Valley Sportsmens Club, Mifflinburg, the Mifflinburg Moose, and Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410.
Surviving are two sons, Scott A. Weaver of Mifflinburg, and Mark D. Weaver of Lewisburg; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Nevin "Jake" R. Weaver of Mifflinburg, and Harold and June Weaver of Hollywood, FL; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Arlene English of New Berlin, and Helen J. and Marlin Troup of Mifflinburg; and one granddaughter, Lily C. Backus of Suffolk, VA.
He was preceded in death by one daugher, Beth A. Weaver; and two brothers, John and Franklin Weaver.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
