Agnes Irene Kessler

A. Irene Kessler, 100, of Mifflinburg for the past 56 years, entered into rest at 6:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2025, at home.

She was born June 21, 1925, in Jackson Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late John P. and Carrie Irene (Eberhart) Erdley. On Feb. 20, 1944, in Beaver Springs, she married Harold Eugene Kessler, who preceded her in death November 1, 2005.

Irene was employed as a seamstress at Lewisburg Shirt Company, and many years at Quaker Manufacturing Company, Lewisburg and Mifflinburg.

She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin.

Irene enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, playing pinochle, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Patricia Kessler of Folsom; one daughter, Sandra M. Ross of Mifflinburg; three grandchildren, Kevin and his wife Melissa Kessler of Barto, Eric Kessler of Folsom, Shannon and her husband Michael De Giorgis of Mifflinburg; three great grandchildren, Patrick Kessler, Reese Kessler, and Hayden De Giorgis; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Margaret Erdley of Milton; two sisters, Mary Keefer of Mifflinburg, and Jennie McNier of Milton.

She was preceded in death by one infant son; one infant daughter; and her siblings, Mae Ulrich, Kathryn Myers, Bessie Miller, Harold Erdley, Anna Erdley, and Robert Erdley.

Family and friends are welcome from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, December 3, at the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at noon, with Rev. James Cope and Pastor Janice Garinger, officiating.

Burial will be in Erdley's Church Cemetery, Middlecreek Township.
